Learning Points

A Key component of an inclusive society is a built environment that addresses the needs of all age groups and people with different abilities. The BCA Universal Design Award for the Built Environment aims to encourage the creation of such an environment.

Into its third year, the Award gives recognition to building owners, developers and professionals for enhancing the user-friendliness of the built environment by incorporating Universal Design in the design and construction of new buildings and refurbishment of existing ones.

The Learning Points of the BCA Universal Design Awards for the Built Environment serve to hihglight to the industry features that contribute to the user-friendliness of building facilites, and observations on areas which can be further improved. Through this, BCA hopes to inculcate in the industry stakeholders, a motto to "design-for-all", so as to transform our built environment into one that is truly friendly to people of all ages and abilities.
