Accessibility in the Built Environment

An accessible built environment is one that is seamlessly connected and allows people of all ages and physical conditions to move around with ease.

The Code on Accessibility in the Built Environment 2007 contains a set of mandatory requirements to ensure accessibility. (All previous Codes on Barrier-Free Accessibility 1990, 1995 and 2002 can be obtained upon request to BCA)

In addition, a $40 million Accessibility Fund has been made available to upgrade buildings built before 1990, which were not subjected to the Code previously.
