BCA Universal Design Awards

In line with BCA’s push towards a friendly built environment, the BCA Universal Design Awards have been established to promote Universal Design (UD) by according recognition to forward-looking developers, building owners and designers.

Among the winners of the awards, one key trait stands out – the corporate philosophy of developers and building owners to ensure that their buildings are designed for all possible users.

Architects and designers also play significant roles in understanding building owners’ corporate philosophy and interpreting them into designs and facilities that are functional, convenient and easy to use by all.

However a truly friendly built environment does not only depend on building owners, architects and designers. Building managers also play a critical role in the maintenance of these facilities for their intended use.
